Hi to you all ;D I'm a South African and new to the forum as well as to wooden ship modelling, though I have been a plastic modeller for many years and have produced a few IPMS National Championship winners over the years (Armour Dioramas & Big Scale Aircraft). I just LOVE working with photo etched metal parts (are forever using them in great big heaps in all my models) so I'm looking forward to to the time we here in SA will be receiving our first P/E parts. I'm also looking forward to the painting & weathering of the completed model in many months' time!

Welcome aboard m8. Glad to hear that someone likes doing the fiddly brass bits, pity you joined so late else I could have shipped my brass bits off to you for you to complete on my behalf!!!!! I personally would rather work in wood, it is so much more satisfying than getting ones fingers glued up with superglue!! (to say that I am brassed off would be an understatement). You will find us all very friendly and a bit mad (we must be to do a build over two and a half years!), please ask any questions you like, someone somewhere will be able to help you (and on a lot of obscure things as well!!!!). ;D

Hi Kriegsloko, Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you'll be able to teach us a trick or two with all your experience and pedigree. I'd love to see some of you work. Don is right - we're a friendly helpful bunch, but all as mad as hatters !!! (or eccentric if you prefer )
