Having got stuck into issue 59 where we've got those devilish handrails to bend into a conical shape, and the aft gunnery control station to cover in brass, I've got a tip for persuading brass parts to take up a nice smooth curve.
I haven't found that the special tool supplied in issue 59 to be of much use. I use a drill bit and a sheet of slightly spongy material (the back of a rubber type mouse mat). Simply put the part to be bent on the rubber sheet, face down, and roll it with the shank of the drill bit. The smaller the bit, the tighter the curve you'll get. Roll smoothly and press quite hard. An 8mm drill seemed about right for the control station parts, and a 6mm drill worked perfectly for the handrails. However, it depends on how soft the rubber is, how hard you press, etc. so you may find different sizes work better for you.
The hand rails will take up the conical shape if you roll the drill in an arc, rahter than a straight line. Try to keep the drill parallel to the handrail stanchions all the time. Once you've got the handrail glued in place you adjust the hand rails to form an even cone, although mine came out almost perfectly. Just needed a slight tweek to get it spot on.
I'll be posting some photos on my web site soon, when I update it with issue 59.

Interesting idea for doing it. Unlike some I can't wait for the brass parts to arrive.

Now I have to play catch up again. Do you curve the cladding first in issue 56 and then put the bits on or vice versa? Hmmm, I remember when.....That darn REM off he ges singing that superman son again, whats he got to be so shiny and happy about!

Yeah I think eric is in his own little world with curved parts Anyway I am not quite sure I get what you mean mate, do you mean bending the brass around the turret base? As I don't think any bits get added to this for a long time. Or are you asking how to attach the brass to the round turret?

No not the turret, the haner door. Don't worry, I was looking at the german site and sussed it. I should of studied german at highschool instead of french. Hang on, if Hitler had won you lot would all be speaking german. Good thing us Canucks came over and save the English language.

Curve first - otherwise you're neatly glued bits may become neatly unglued
