Looks like you've got a fair bit to go yet. Try to get it smooth. Stop if you think the wood is getting a bit thin. Put filler in any deep recesses. Keep the use of filler to a minimum.

Thanks, Now I just need some fine weather, so I can get outside and git it done. But we need the rain badly though. Dams are down to 45.95% combined capacity as of the 25th of July.

Hi Sky The smoother you can sand the first layer, the easier it is when you lay the second one. As Mark says, use some filler where you can, but don't be afraid to to sand heaps off the planks. Start smoothing out your lumps and bumps first, then work the whole surface. Stop before you hit the ribs though ...... ;D Example of the finish I had on my hull before adding the second layer. Baz
