One of of my favourite tanks ever! you can also get these in 1/16th scale and radio controlled. tamiya is one of the manufacturers, but unless you want a secod mortgage I wouldn't recommend it... heng long is another manufacturer an dthose ones are really affordable, they even have a sound module, smoke module, and fully proportional steering, turretmovement, and they can fire 6mm BB's... a dream come true for any wannabe tank ace

Great model indeed. I love the diorama. The tank collection is slightly more appealing than the tractor collection. Why is it we're more interested in the machines that kill people than the ones that feed people

Good point, look at the Bismarck -it sunk the Hms Hood killing all but 3 crew. I must admit I like war machinery but only for the technology behind it and such like.

Why is it we're more interested in the machines that kill people than the ones that feed people Well, They're like railway steam engines - powerful machines designed for a particular purpose. Diggers, bulldozers and tractors have the same attraction - but less so. nm

Sometimes bulldozers, tractors and the like do more damage to the environment than war machines...but thats a whole other discussion. I believe our fascination with war machinery helps us concieve the damage they could and possibly, still can do, and in growing on this appreciation enable us who are growing older and wiser to appreciate and pass on to the younger generations the human costs which mankind has had to suffer in the past to achieve peace. Perhaps, especially at the Christmas season, it is best to pass on to our children a sense of peace which can be forged within our global conscience to learn from these behemoths of destruction, that which can be good in mankind for a more peaceful future. One can only hope
