Help needed please My part 67 sits above the deck, Should i sand down part 67 or part 65 or the hull were part 67 sits, cheers paul

Hi Paul, I think you mean the part which sits ontop of the resin part? Not sure of the numbers myself!! Just tried mine, there is a very very small ridge, which can easily be lost with sanding of the wood. How big a step do you have? If less than 1mm, then just sand down the wood part when the time comes to fix it. (not yet). Sounds as if the model BELOW the resin part was a bit too high in the first place, as I should imagine all of Hachettes resin parts are identical. However, trying to drag up my memorys of distant ast, I can recall one resin part which was lopsided and needed sanding level before it was fitted - should be on the forum somewhere if I can find it!!

Hello Don Cheers for the help,im gona do it the way you say and sand down part65. it is the model below the resin part that is a bit too high making the resin part sit 2 high. I checked it out and its bout 1mm, so i could get away with sanding part 65 I found them post cheers.

yep same problem here i sanded down the part underneeth the resin part took a fair bit of but finally got it all level just need a bit of trimmin on the side of the resin piece now

just checked my part 65 and 67 have the same result here 65 sits about 2mm high

Just dont glue part 65 in place just yet. There is a template ply part No.206 supplied in issue 43 that is used to profile the anchor chain curves on part 65, see the preview for iss 43. If you glue part 65 in place before the profiling has been done it becomes harder to profile 65 once it is glued into place
