Now that we are into the heavy rainy season, have been catching up on my build. Issue 79 shows a diagram in picture 10 for the fitting of deck hatches. Note that the dimensions are based on the cut down deck, which is an error. The 11.5mm needs an additional 6mm adding to it, making 17.5 mm to give the position as per the side piece 709 ( I am using the modified 709 but the original is useful in setting up the hatch position).

So whats happening there Swan, is the hatch in the wrong position and needs to be moved to 17.5 mil? And who or what is the modified 709? We aren't anywhere near 79 down here yet?

When you get issue 79, you will find that for some strange reason, Hachette cut off the back 11.5 mm of the deck (the piece which overhangs the gangway between the forward and aft superstructure. The measurements given in the mag are for the reduced deck, not the one we actually have, hence my message above. Again, Hachette have corrected an error on one of the brass side pieces, and give you a choice of which one to fit. In the UK we are due issue 89 this week.

So there was a reduced deck and a not so reduced deck? Was it a modification on the actual bismark at some stage, sorry to sound daft but that was all as clear as mud to me Swan.. I have only just received 67 down here, I guess once I get to 79 though I will be able to see whats going on, thanks for your help, Steve
