Just received my issue 22 today and tried a dry run with part 67 (the resin moulding), with part 65 from issue 21. To my horror, found that part 65 came out to be 1.5mm higher on the starboard side compared to the deck already fitted. On closer inspection of part 67, looking at the cross section, I found that one side was 1.5mm thicker than the other! Luckily, it was the high side had too much rather than the low side not having enough, so I was able to sand off the excess and now all is well. PLEASE CHECK YOUR OWN PART 67 CAREFULLY BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO GLUE IT IN PLACE - BE WARNED!!!!!

Yes, add me to the list. Did this happen to our friends on the continent ? Do the more experienced members have any further advice? Do we sand-down just as 'swanrail' did? The covering deck (ply) above appears that it will be two layers....so if we sand 67 to the bottom level of the forward ply deck covering (pts 60) ? Planking progressing very well...nice to see the hull taking shape. Thanks.

I have sanded mine down so that the temp part 65 top is level with the deck behind it (dry run). Will have to wait until issue 43 to find out if correct or not!.

My part 67 seems to sit just below the level of the deck probably 1mm if that looking at the photo in the guide thats how it should be but reading the above it should be flush with the deck
one word
HELP!

Caligula, he says they have found the exact same problem with part 67 from issue 22, though not all have found this and mine seems okay, so it sounds to be a tolerance problem with this part. Suggest either request a new part or sand as has been suggested, but having read the above it seems some may also have a 67 that is too small so be careful, if it is a tolerance problem then this might suggest this part could also be supplied too small as well as too thick He also says that in ermany they are also having problems with the resin Bow part from issue 43 saying it is too wide and too thick!

The bow part problem in Germany may be because some have opted NOT to second plank their hulls, and that would certainly make the resin bow too wide and thick. Only time will tell for us here.

It will if you installed the spacer part 66 from 21 though the pocket is wrong on the resin part hence why they are to supply a new resin part within 35. There was an advice note within 21 to set aside part 66 from 21 and the resin stern part from 23 out for a much improved resin stern part to be supplied in 35 if that makes any sense

Although not yet up to fitting part 67 or 65. After reading the comments on the problems you have all been having tried to find it in the step by step guide. I can find part 67 fitted in photo 07 on page 43. However I cannot find any details or photo showing part 65 fitted. I assume that part 67 is fitted then part 65 on top to take up to deck level?

Please note that there are TWO ply wood sections to be fitted above the resin part 67. We already have the topmost one of the two, the other is due out much later when the two will be glued together, filed into shape and THEN fitted above part 67. According to my calculations this will leave the topmost ply above the adjacent deck surface, which might well be expected, SO LEAVE WELL ALONE!!
