Hi to all, My name is Thymen, I live in The Netherlands and (what a coincidence) am going to build the Bismarck to. I have no experience in building wooden ships at all but I’m not a stranger to wood (it’s something at least). I spend my time building 1:35 armour kits, building and driving 1:16 RC armour kits and a load of scale trains (1:87), off course with a load of armour kits. Currently I’m studying to become a merchant seafarer (both navigation and engineering) and have just spent 5 month’s sailing the Mediterranean on a container vessel. Two of my current projects are a scratch build E-25 Jagdpanzer in 1:16 and RC (see this site, in Dutch though) and the Revell 1:350 Bismarck converted to RC (see this site, in Dutch too). When the weather is nice I like to drive on my motorcycle around the countryside. Thymen

Welcome aboard Thymen, we are building up quite a Dutch fleet of Bismarcks!! You will also find several other members who were merchant navy, so you are not alone in that respect! Happy building!!

Welcome fellow dutchman,
Did you also runaway from the "modelbouwforum". For the non-dutchspeakers: The Modelbuildforum (one of the largest modelling forums in the Netherlands). The pagecounter is rising and no real info what-so-ever over there.
Good luck to all starters. And many thanks to the builders who help us by posting there problems and solutions.
Danny

I didn't run away from modelbouwforum, it just isn't my place to hang out often. And when it comes to building the Bismarck, this is the place to be. Thymen
