Hi everyone, I have sent 3 e-mails to hachette asking about propellers and propeller shafts, i my e-mails I made it clear that my model was to be a static for display only, however the reply I got back today says the propellers and propeller shafts will be supplied with the remote control kit. I have sent a further e-mail today asking for clarification as to whether hachette will still supply propellers and propeller shafts without the remote control kit. I await thier answer!!!!!

If there only supplied with the r/c kit, then my Bismarck may end up a bit bare in it's nether regions as I'm not getting the r/c kit, due to not enough money at the present time. It may get motors sometime in the distant future, (as in years in the future).

I'm sure that scale props etc will be supplied as part of the series. Can you imagine the compaints they would get if they didn't supply props....

Hi everyone, I can now confirm that in a e-mail I received today from hachette, they are NOT and I stress NOT going to supply propellers and propeller shafts unless you have the remote control kit. Which means for anyone like myself building a static model only, we will have to purchase propellers and propeller shafts seperately. I hope that anyone who feels as I do will contact hachette and tell them how let down they feel having to pay a lot of money for this model to be told now that we have to purchase the propellers and propeller shafts. I feel totally disgusted myself.

I think you will find you have been misadvised as they cant posssibly advertise/show a ship model with props & shafts if you dont actually get them unless they tell you so in the first place! Its likely they confused that you wont be getting the same propellers & shafts as those being supplied for the Hachette RC set and that the ones supplied for the normal magazine (static model) are quite different as they are scale whereas the RC props & shafts are not

Hi al1x, I stressed to hachette that I was only building a static model, and asked them to clarify if they were supplying prpoellers and propeller shaft of any kind and I was advised to get them elsewhere, as they were only supplying these items with the remote control kit, and as you have seen the germans are upto issue 79 and have not been supplied with these items for the static model so I do not think I am confused. I would like to think we are getting these items, but from the e-mails I have received I don't think we are.

Your right the Germans are only up to issue 79 out of 140 issues so an awful long way yet to go and plenty of time/issues remaining for them to supply, not sure what makes you think they should have already been supplied If hachette dont supply then they will have customers from every country this series is at on their backs and will probably be open to a case brought by trading standards as they will have broken a fundamental rule of trading law, you can't show something what you dont provide unless you say so, which is why they had to back down about the supply of laser cut decking planks. for those who want them. I think the props & shafts for the static version are in the system somewhere and its simply a matter of waiting for them to appear, because if they dont supply then there are going to be an awful lot of unhappy customers out there

Remember you'll probably get EXTRA propellers - should get at least one aircraft! (or will it be hidden in the hangar?)

Hi Trevor, I think somebody has mis-understood you. Scale props & rudders must be included as they were shown on the photos of the completed model, and are completely different to the working model. Look at the leaflet offering the RC gear.

From the photos they are quite nice looking props. Could they be made to function or would they be just too small to provide decent propulsion ?

I suspect that they will simply be too weak, not have a thread for fixing, and probably not be balanced.
I'm hoping that the size is not going to cause too much of an issue as I'm going to use scale brass props on mine !! It will, of course, reduce the pereformance but model ships tend to be overpowered anyway. Finger's crossed !!

Good luck and pity about the static scale props. From the pic, (if thats what they supply and they should now they have shown them in the pictures!) they look like very nice.

Have sent a mail to Jonathan @ Jacklin enterprises to verify. Will advise on the outcome.
