if you want to be super safe then use industrial thread lock such as Loctite.

You could just use the lock-nut that is included with the shafts, although a drop of Loctite would make 100% sure. Don't use the high strength types though, or you will never get the prop off again. The wheels of my 5" gauge steam loco ( www.wakelin.org/polly) are held on with Loctite, and they are glued on for keeps !!

Thanks for the information. It would be terrible if I lost one of the Brass props supplied by markus. I certainly would need help to drag the pond. Perhaps the coast guard or police. I may have to take a course in diving.

Even fullsize ships have been known to lose a propellor or 2 at times!!!
