I just love looking at that gloss paint Nettie. I'd never use it myself but gee it makes for a nice show off piece. Can't wait to see it when its all finished. Keep up the good work!
cheers

Statistic - 1200 parts
Working on this partwork and have soldered some small parts. I shall paint this up today to see what imperfections are showning before I go further. I have soldered the small platforms - even though the instructions say not too!!! - as they may be broken. However I am being carefull and handling everything with the utmost of care. The household pets have been instructed of the inportance of being carefull, however cats have a mind of their own.....

How many cats netties ? Just had one of my period ships splattered in recent weeks by one of our pesky felines. She'll need to be in dry dock for months Also - your Bissie is looking fantastic How about a couple of piccies of your soldering before the paint goes over top. I think you are about the only builder using solder as the main joining method Baz

Since I'm home alone, I didn't even bother either watching or listening to the Melbourne Cup this year. Bissie is looking good.

Issue 87 this week, only one more year of part build. We start construction of the main guns next week. It will be a nice easy break from the fiddly tiny parts. Pictures so far of my build. My little helper is also shown flat out as usual telling me what part to do next - typical female... This next shot shows some fine suture that I will be using as cables and antenna wires as the build continues. I tinned both sides of the pulley parts, placed a bit of suture where the cable should run and then sweated the parts together with the soldering iron. Pull out the suture and your left with a channel that the new main cable can run through. The cable is spring mounted underneath the decking so that if it is pushed it will move in and out under the tension. This pic shows the ducting out of 1.5mm square brass stock. This is better than what is supplied in the magazine. Next to it I have used brass tube as well, and this finishes off nicely. Another side view. Mast head. Aft radar 1. Aft radar 2. also shows the 3 board parts that are placed sometime towards the end. Although not in focus they are seen in the framework. Dont know what they are but they are now fixed in place. Lockers and the small lights which are a pain to glue in place. Catapult. Only this wooden part to cover this week. Ammunition hoist. Main aircraft hanger. Radio station assembly.
