Just about every period model ship company and his ... er.... has put out a model of the Victory in one form or another. Corel put out a nice one many years back Sergel/Mantua/Panart have a couple and on and on ........ I have always been disappointed in the stern detail of every one, so have never considered building one There are some must nicer & larger scale 2 deckers, 5th raters and frigates about. Something like that appeals to me more. But won't be distracted ....... onwards and upwards with Bissie ..

I actually signed up for this when it was test launched in Sept but they stopped it after 4 issues.
I got a call from them on Fri saying they will continue with my subscription but it would be from issue 2. I told them I had issues 1 ~ 4 but was told they can only start at No 2. I didn’t pay for the first 4 issues so no big deal. Looks good but cutting out the hatches for the cannons will be a bit of a nightmare. JoTika give you plywood sections which have already been cut which makes life a bit easier. Still looking forward to the build though.

Well all I can say is I can't wait for the pictures to start appearing of the DeAgostini builds, especially yours grant I really don't envey you lot when you get to the rigging, from looking at the pictures on the DeAgostini forum it looks like a complete nightmare lol.

100 hatches ! I don't think it will be too difficult, but very time consuming !
AFK, the rigging is the best bit !

100 hatches - with the aid of a Dremel tool, cutting disc and a steadyish hand -not a problem. How about building 100 cannons to go behind the hatches when each cannon is made up of 16 pieces!!!!! Hope they dont supply one cannon only in an issue otherwise this thing will go on for about 250 issues. Cant see on the website actually how many issues there are.

I don't think all the cannons are fully constructed. The lower gun deck is hidden, and the Artisania kit just has these as barrels pushed into a recessed bulkhead.
I couldn't find the number of issues either on the web site, or on issue 1, but 120 is the number being bandied around the DeAg forum.

I think its 120 issue's grantj, The DVD which is supplied with issue 1 show's the gun port's being cut out. I think the cutting is not to bad, its the marking out where you got to be careful.
follow the old rule. measure twice , cut once mike

All we need now is a volunteer to go first.
