These came fast, 2 packages in 3 weeks. Again 2 photos, parts and a 'in progress' shot. The parts went together nice and easy, but I'm having problems with the gears turning. I can turn the large sun gear nearly a full circle, this turns some of the other gears, but it's very tight in one place. I'll sort it, I had a simular problem with the solar system and that runs great now.

These arrived yesterday, only 2 issues though. This is going to be very heavy. I phoned customer services and asked why there was only 2 issues, the (friendly) woman said that they didn't want to hurt the posties back by sending out 4 issues at once. NOT kidding. Issues 30 and 31 will be arriving in a few days. I'm not going to build any further until I get the rest of the drum.

Another package today. 2 issues, 30 and 31. The other half of the drum and the start of the gearing system. This issue start of the parts for the year counter. Edit:- forgot to say, sorry for the photos, broke another camera, so now using camera phone again.

And the parts built up. First off, the drum is not fixed at the moment, but the weight of the sun, earth and moon gears are heavy enough to sit on the drum. And next, a couple of photos of the gear shaft for the year counter. The 2 large'ish black plastic parts hold the counter in place. This won't be attached until the next issue. As we are now working on the underside of the drum top plate, it's easier not the fix this to the sun column. For the next few issues, we are adding the drive motors and gears to the underside, so leaving the top plate unattached saves breaking the screw that attaches to the sun column. I did this with the solar system and had to buy another screw.

Wow that is one superb build. The quality of the parts is top notch. *sigh* another regret of not getting this build.

Sorry to say guys. But I think this is a better and stronger design than the solar system.

I have all the issues up to about 31 (except 17 - on back-order at the newsagent) and just started assembling it.
Like some of you, I can't do Stage 1 Part 1. The gears won't mesh. Must get on to the man.

The problem with the gears sticking has sorted itself out, now it's sat on the drum everything turns nice and smooth now. I was turning the gears before, but now the whole arm spins around the drum, everything is easier.

Did you get new parts, or did it eventually prove possible with the original pieces?

Sorry nm, I didn't see your post. I didn't get any more bit's, it just seems easier to more the whole unit around now it's on the base.
And now for a bit of bad news (AGAIN). I was wondering why I had not recieved the next set of issues. So I checked my account on the internet and again it had been closed. I have phoned eaglemoss today and the lady on the phone said that they had a problem with getting the money from my account (again). I find this a load of crap, because I have no problems with any other form of debit and there was no problem with money in the account, as there was plenty in there. And yes I have phoned my bank and they said that the D/D had not been applied for.
My account is now reinstated, but I will be paying for the issues by invoice. The bad news is that the next 4 issues can take up to 21 days to arrive.
Needless to say I'm not happy with eaglemoss, so when the lord of the rings figures (neverending addons) and the orbiter are finished I don't think I will be buying any more of their publications by subscription. It's not worth the hassle.

Issues 32 to 35 arrived today, delivered to my sisters for some strange reason. Eaglemoss haven't even got her address, good job she only lives around the corner from me. Anyway, photo 1:- bits that arrived. Photo 2:-underside of the top plate, with year counter added. Photo 3:-top of top plate with gears added. According to my online account these issues haven't been sent out yet. I not impressed with Eaglemoss.
