Nice kit Skyfire, I have that one half finished. This kit would be fairly easy to R/C and would certainly look good!
I look forward to seeing your progress.

I've decided to get the brass detail kit, just might take a little while to save the funds for it.

Started construction of the Yamato by gluing in the propshaft supports, propshats and propellers. Added both rudders to the hull and started on the 46 cm & 15 cm (18 inch and 15.5 inch) guns.
The Yamato has some teeth, just wish the Bismarck did as well. Photos still to come, if no storms around tommorrow.

Will be interested in how she progresses Sky Saw a group of 1:350 Tamiya kits for about $115.00 each in a model shop the other day.
But I think I will save my money and follow in Don & Poul's footsteps for my next big project ........... a scratch build
As for bushfire season coming round again..... don't mention it. The way they have been criticising the CFA at the inquiry, I wonder if there will be a firefighter in sight next January. Considering the size, speed and spread of some of the fires last year, I salute each and every person was entrusted with the onerous task of either co-ordinating the forces or who entering the fray to lift a fire hose in anger. Lets hope we don't get a repeat of last year.

I do have a scratch build planned, the Aberdeen Pilot Boat from the Model Boats magazine plans. But I'll change the name as I have issues with the name 'Sea Shepard'. Due to a certain conservation society with the same name. Can't say what I really think of them or I would be banned from the forum for sure.
Would be nice if they would leave the CFA alone and let them get on with what they do best!!!

Are you still goign down the R/C route? Im only asking as are you planning to motorise just two of the props or all four? As will you have enough room in the hull for all the wires etc. Although it does look a 'meaty' hull so to speak.

Think the way things are going the Yamato will be static. Those propshafts are already glued in, not that tightly though, more tack glued. Could easily fit 4 motors in the hull along with the wiring and batteries.
