I found this via the Mayhem forum. Note that there are no blast bags at the base of the barrels. I've been wondering about this feature.  |

I quite like all these contradictory photo's, because no one can agree on most of the features which appear different in a number of photo's, it allows the creation of a decent model that can be both accurate and made up, it's great! Looking at that photo the bottom of the first turret is painted white, the same with the front bit of the superstructure, and the whole top of the second turret is grey, never seen that before

probably between her being commisioned and her baltic voyage, since the bismarck wasn't complete till march-may 1941. the aft AA guns are missing too.
our model represents the bismarck between march-may 1941, after this time some parts were removed again.

If you have a closer look at the Photo, The foretop fire control position is pointing over the starbord bow and there seems to be some sort of ariel attachment to her port side of the tower on a spreader. no idea what that could be.
