Dear Markus Many thanks, it WAS the mechanical connection I was interested in. I decided not to glue in case I need to replace a faulty servo so I have connected mine with screws and levers.

i didn't screw the lever to the servo so if i have to replace a servo i can use the old lever which is glued to the turret markus

Absolutely fabulous. My efforts pale into insignificance by comparison. Well done. You are a true master craftsman.

One question occurs. For making smoke, would it be practical to install two smoke generators in the funnel? Obviously the smoke fluid would not last as long, and maybe the heat would melt the funnel, but it would give of some great clouds of smoke. Any comments most welcome.

no need to worry about melting the funnel - 2 generators have the same distance to the funnel walls compared to a single generator
the only disadvantage:
tank will be empty after approx. 15 minutes of smoke...

Chill, you better add search lights to your model, just in case they produce too much smoke... Sorry for highjacking your thread Markus, but that was too tempting!

Dear Gerrybuilt (with apologies to Markus)
See Popeye's build for how I fixed my smoke generator in the funnel, it includes photos and a video of the generator smoking. I had it running for about 30 minutes (to test the capacity) and the outer plastic of the funner and the funnel top hardly got warm.

Hi Markus Great job on your model. Mine looked OK until I had a stroke a couple of months ago, since then my hand to eye coordination is poor so the work isn't as accurate as it should be! I will percivere to the bitter end though! (on issue 128 at present).
I was going to use the Hachette posts for the deck railings, but now I know I will never be able to tackle such a fiddly job so I was wondering if you can still get the railings you used on your model. Could you please let me know if you can still get them, costs etc?
Thanks in advance, and once again, well done on a superb piece of model making.
Felix
