After due consideration and playing with the first issue I think that I'm going to continue with this as it looks like a challenging build and one that will take some thinking about.
The scale of this bird is 1/32 which makes it the biggest on the market as the other model kits are either 1/72 or 1/48.
I'm sure that after the triplane issues that Hachette has taken into account all the problems and complaints about the metal parts included in that partwork were terrible and substandard (IMHO). As it turns aout those parts were made in Spain!
So far I'm impressed and will continue.

I saw the advert for the Lanc tonight for the first time, looks pretty good.
If I had the space for it I'd go for it.

You'll just have to buy a bigger house Eric. If the missus complains, just tell her that she needs to get the priorities right

Unfortunatly my Bismarck has sunk without trace. I made too many mistakes by rushing the build and also small fingers that got into my hobby room finished it off!
I'm saving up for when Amati release it as a full kit.
Incidentally It looks like there may be the possibility of superdetailing this 1/32 Lancaster inside, depending on what Hachette supply as part of this partwork.
I recently paid a visit to the BBMF and the Lancaster round at the Lincolnshire aviation heritage museum and managed to get some interior photos.
If you would like to put them up on the site as reference pictures let me know and I'll email them
James

Cutty sark was on trail i subscribed but a few weeks later got a nice letter and a pen set saying it had been cancelled. This was the first smaller scale one, acording to the build sheets 2002 but I thought the Fokker was released first in 2006 along with the Spitfire at the same time. This one

OK guys, I know you've been waiting for this ! (You have been waiting haven't you ?) I've launched a new web site. www.lancaster.partworkmodels.co.uk/I've also launched a new forum. www.partworkmodels.co.uk/phpBB3/index.phpFirstly, I'm really busy at the moment, so both forum and web site are still under construction. However, the bare necessities are there so please forgive me of they don't look as polished as I would really like them to look. Now, why am I launching a new forum rather than using this one ? Several reasons. Firstly, most of the people find this forum through Google, and they aren't going to find a Lancaster section on a Bismarck forum. The new forum is not specific to any part work, so I can keep it going as long as new partworks are published. It can be tailored so that Google finds it according to whatever is the newest partwork. Secondly, I'm hosting it on my own web space, rather than using Pro-boards service. This gives me much more control over the forum administration. The result is that I will be able to keep the community together as partworks come and go. You may notice that the Lancaster site is a subdomain of www.partworkmodels.co.uk I will use this site as a central hub and run other part works from it. Again, this will help attract a bigger audience and enrich the community, as well as making it easier for me to manage. What about the Bismarck forum ? Nothing is going to change. I will run the two forums in parallel. The Bismarck forum will carry on just the same as it has done as long as people want to post here. How about the style of the new forum ? I'll run it in exactly the same manner as I do this forum. It looks slightly different, but the layout will be similar and the style of management will be the same. Spammers will be booted off without warning. Trouble makers will be invited to behave, or will be shown the door. It will remain strictly family friendly. If anybody has any suggestions, post them on this or the new forum. As ever, these are your forums, not mine......
