Hello to all. I recently found this very useful site and have now registered. I am an engineer, mainly working in the safety field. I am retired from the Royal Navy (submarine nuclear engineer), but not retired. My model hobbies are mainly with steam (I will post details of my steam-driven 9ft battleship in the other ships section shortly). I live in Brighton, East Sussex, UK and you can usually meet me on the model ships section of Brighton Modelworld exhibition each year (mid-february during school half-term). I am president of the Warship Squadron Model Boat Club (Shoreham). [img src="[/img] "]

Hi Popeye, welcome to the nut house!
You can only post photo's via a site such as photobucket.com, it's a bit of a fiddle at first, but you quickly get the hang of it!
Look in "Testing, testing,Hey, is this thing switched on?" for full details of how to go about it.
Welcome again!
Eric.

Hi Popeye, Welcome aboard - always nice to have another experienced modeller on board. I hope you enjoy the general lunacy that pervades the forum. It doesn't interfere with building the model too much, except when 'The Guys' hijack a thread. On second thoughts, it does interfere - the guys hikack more often that Al Quaida !!! Still, it's fun

Hi there Popeye welcome to the Crazy Pit where the forum Survival Guide is a needed accompinment. It covers the usual stuff like A-Z of Nautical Terms, How To Highjack a thread in ten different ways, and my personal favourite Ring Side Seats watching Napolean V's Everyone.. Seriously there are alot of skillfull and knowledgable builders who will help you in a heartbeat.. Enjoy this forum as I do every day.

Dear All Many thanks for the greetings and advice. If you go to and click on the "Jack Rose Boats and Train" you can see me, my family and my other boats and train. PS - I have found the section on building the weekly parts of the Bismark very useful - many thanks.
