Hi all,
I found out about this forum after looking at Mark's page.
I am at Issue 31 of the build, after not touching it for a whle (too many hobbies!....well that and the planking making me want to cry and hit something....hard....with a hammer!
I only found out about planking clamps once i had finished the hull!!!!!
So it was a jewelers hammer and a box of pins, which worked well but does give sore fingers!
I will put up some pics of the build when i can.
Hope i finish this and don't go mad!

Hi Rick, welcome!
Me too re the planking clamps, worth the while buying them for the second planking, it'll mean NO hole in the planks to fill afterwards, and that can only be a good thing!

G'day there Rick-k-k-k-k-k-k. Rob here, I'm a new recruit like you and I just give you a heads up mate . The guys around here a really freindly and after reading a far bit all over the forum they are only too eager to help anyone that comes aboard. i hope you're a little bit on the twittered and bistered side cos every one around here are nuts. They will try to tell they're not but don't beleive them, even when you're trying to pick your self up of the floor laughing. The crazy ones are Yoads (Yoddha) who is cracked-broken and just plain smashed,Nappy (Napoleon) he's scits,The mad Scotsman(ERIC), The Mauler( MARK), Sane One (swanrail), Captain HMS Bitmap(MIKE). Thats what I have knicknamed them to try to keep myself sane in this forum they call " The Nuthouse" Anyway welcome from me, have fun and hopefuuly you will learn something from the inmates. They will want input from you also, so jump in head first mate.

Cheers guys.
No i am quite ruthlessley insane (mainly due to aforementioned planking) but also the sheer Boredom of living in Aberdeen where there is little to do if you dont:
A - Drive a Nove round the beach front at all hours with bass up full! B - Go to every nightclub in town (there are many, not much else mind....)and get charged about £15 a go to get in!! C - Sit and Shiver in the Lovely Scottish sunshine!
Hence why i have a nice time consuming hobby that can be carried out in the warmth of a fire...not too close with the varnish in hand mind.

It's nice to have another Scot in here, there are several others knocking about somewhere, I'm sure they'll say hello when they wake up.... "sit and shiver in the lovely Scottish sunshine" That is an excellent way of putting it! It'll be a strange notion to our Aussie friends, sunshine is usually hot down there, especially at this time of year!

Oh is hould point out i do not drive a NOVA, it is in fact one the reasons i avouid the town centre as it is full of neds\chavs (pick local dialect term of timewasting scum!) with said nova's ad corsas with the stereo's at full volume!
Hence why i stay at home and only go into town with the girlfriend to quiet coffee houses in my MR-2
