Hello. The time has come to start painting the small bits & pieces. I`m using a 1/8 HP compressor 40psi. The problem is no paint is coming out of the gun, it did at first but now not. I have cleaned the nozzle and it`s a jar type of gun set below. The hole in the jar isn`t blocked. Iv`e thinned it to almost just coloured thinners and still no paint. Any suggestions?

Have you dissassembled the gun? With mine I unscrew the nozzle at the front, unscrew the rear ajuster and remove the needle completely.
Try spraying neat thinners through it.

Is this a Revvel type air brush where the air blows over a nozzle to pick up and atomise the paint ? If so it sounds like the pick-up tube or paint nozzle is blocked.
If it's the sort where the paint is mixed internally in the brush, try putting your finger over the end and pressing the trigger to see if that will clear the blockage. You should see bubbles coming out of the dip tube. Don't doublew check that the vent hole is clear, or the glass jar might explore or blow off.

I had this problem with my single action airbrush. It was the type that has the bottle pushed on underneath. I had been using solvent type paint which had perished the plastic suction tube so I replaced the tube with a bit of silicon sleeving off a piece of electric cable. This worked fine until it suddenly stopped working like yours. The reason was that the solvent paint caused the silicon tube to swell so that it was a loose fit on the cap nipple. This caused air to enter the tube from the top and prevented the paint from being sucked up.
Maybe this is your problem - check that the tube is a tight fit on the cap nipple.

Dear Steve. I have the Badger 200-3, which has the bottle underneath, the special cap being a push fit onto the airbrush. I sometimes have a paint uptake problem (especially if I set the pressure down to 20psi - for small and light items) which I solve by adjusting the back screw for a bigger paint area, spray onto a scrap piece of paper until the paint starts to come through and then screw the adjustment back down for a smaller paint coverage. If there is a problem with the suction tube or paint bottle cap, Squires of Bognor Regis (UK) (100 London Rd, Bognor Regis, West Sussex, PO21 1DD phone 01243 842424 www.squirestools.com/) do a full range of Badger bits, including spare tubes (set of 3 for about £1), spray bottles and spray caps, needles, etc., etc.

Hello all. I solved the lack of air problem from the compressor. It turned out to be a blocked plastic air line from the compressor to the paint jar. I bought a new one and it seems to be ok

Glad it's sorted, how are you getting on with air brushing now ?
