Hey Mark, thanks ! Yeah im probably the first since the collection started last week ! Well that's my first wood boat, usually I scratch Star Wars models ! Some of my models can be seen on my website : ombresdesang.info/index.htmlHopefully, I will be able to build the Bismarck as she should be. I plan to R/C her.

Wow - the Star Wars models are amazing. Just love the Star Destroyer. I've got the big Lego Star Destroyer which is fun and looks good, but not really a serious model. How did you find out what parts they use for the original models ?

Thanks for the warm welcome guys Yeah Mark I saw the Lego ISD in display at Toy'sR Us and it's impressive ! The millenium Falcon is very good too ! To find the right kitparts it's... All the kits released before my birth ! lol Mainly Tamiya and Airfix kits ! But the hard part with my ISD was to find the same kits at a 1/2 scale of kits used by ILM since my is about 1/2 scale of the sutdio model ! I scratchbuilt what I wasnt able to find. Thanks Don, I dont know if I will have ton of questions cuz Ive started to read the different threads and all the answers seem to be already here ! That's the good side to start after everyone lol (well TBH it would have been better to start last year but... I dont have the choice ! ). All your posts are very helpful, thanks for sharing all your tips etc ! I will do the same too, but I think it will be too late for you Unfortunatly I will not be able to help you a lot, but from what I saw you didnt need any help ! Julien Oh and sorry for my english, Ive learned English trhough english and US boards only, I try to do my best !

Welcome monsieurtox.
As you probably know, Mark (the genius behind this board) is British but living in Korea, Marcus lives in Germany and was voted a top man here, others live in South Africa, Australia, Ireland . . . . and it's great to have extra people from France.
Good luck with the build: you probably saw Mark's advice to wait for all of the keel before putting on the frames; people have found it good to secure the keel to a baseboard (some who didn't found that the bottom developed a curve) until some of the planking is done, giving rigidity to the hull. (I'm not actually building the Bismarck just now - but I have learned from reading all this!)

I built mine without having it attached to anything and the keel is nice and flat still and it's staying nice and flat while it just sits on a shelf, with the magazines sitting on top of the frames. Wonder if the weight of the magazines is keeping thins flat ? NM

Umm something odd happened just then, didn't mean for the bit I typed in to be in the quoted section of text as well. The part which started with, "I built mine..."
