Didn't know where to put this so started a thread: Moduni (German mail-order model shop) has filed for insolvency, but they want to come through it I think: "after good 16 years, the executive from Scheuer & StrĂ¼ver GmbH has declared to file for insolvency at the Local Court in Hamburg this last Friday 23.10.2009." www.moduni.de/news.php/language/ennm

That's a shame - they were a very good outfit. I too ordered from them now and again It seems they are looking for new investors, and want to trade their way out of their difficulties. I think that's what this means: "The Scheuer & StrĂ¼ver team and the insolvency administrator are setting all in for the continuance of the concern. In the next few days, discussions will be following to find potential investors. The business concern is still in process without any restrictions and we are looking forward to becoming your orders. We hope that you will support us. We send you our best modelling greetings Your moduni team." nm

Looked at the moduni website just now. It's gone strange. Temporarily, I hope.
(Tried the AltaVista translation, but it didn't tell me much.)
nm
PS: Tried the Google translator, and it seemed to work better:
Moduni Dear customer,
the most important information first: It goes on!
The future of moduni is sealed in the coming days and already the preparations are in full swing.
To prepare for this phase and technically the best online shop and the telephone hotline are temporarily closed.
For more detailed information, get in a few days at this point.
Thank you for your understanding and your support
Best regards from Hamburg Your moduni Team

The moduni website was off for a few days - it's not fully back yet, but forwards you to www.si-direct.de/moduni. The company that took over seems to be moving everything from Hamburg to Frankfurt. Don't know if the Advent Calendars I ordered will come soon, or ever! nm PS They had only recently moved to new premises near their old place in Hamburg. nm

Markus: I looked at www.moduni.de/ and I think they're saying if you ordered and paid the old company and did not get your items, you won't get them now unless you re-order. Is that a proper reading of their message? I ask here rather than in a Personal Message in case anybody else is interested. Thanks. nm

This is a Google translation
Their old residues Since the Moduni Shipping GmbH Floersheim not legal successor of the barn, and Struever GmbH, existing residues were not incorporated. Of course we are happy when you order again from us.
I take that to mean they are not honouring old orders. Maybe Markus can confirm ?

Ordered some items from moduni before their crisis - they arrived today. Thought i might have lost my money, but all's well.
nm
PS The new moduni website, the Airbus A400M military transport and a new bridge across the Liffey in Dublin are all due to fly on Friday 11 December. nm
