Can some kind person tell me where do I go to put an AVATAR onto my postings, please, I know the photobucket drill, but don't know where to paste it! Many thanks.

Julian,
Click on your name then click modify profile. In there you will find a box saying Avatar URL. Paste the URL code from photobucket into this box and your away. However, check the size as there is a limit.

You will hve to remove the [ img ] and [ /img ] from the photobucket code or it won't work for the avatar.

now I completely lost  How do I remove anything from the 1MG code? all I used to do in the past, for other Forums, was click on the IMG code, then COPY, then PAST it, I have tried that about six times, but to no avail, so what you are saying must be the answer, BUT. how do you do that I know, I know, It must be my age. anything later than a Whittworth or a BA spanner and that's me Kn******d ;D |

It's getting more complicated now, all I done was pasted the link and the image came up, but when I paste the link in the AVATAR box, nothing happens.!!

Your Avatar probably does not work because its size is 85 x 118
Or they should not be greater than 100 x 100

 OK, From photobucket I copy the IMG CODE. Then I go to Modify PROFILE, and enter my password ( twice ) Then paste the IMG CODE in the AVATER URL box. AND then I click on "MODIFY PROFILE ! Now when I started to write this message I pasted the IMG CODE first, so it will be interesting to see if that will come out as text or an AVATAR when I post this reply!! Julian. |
