The fourth fret down- that looks like the gang way between the funnel and the superstructure.
The third fret- lots of pieces on there!

Fret 762 - the two 'walking stick' shaped ones are fitted on the hangers - on the outside wall towards one end - unless they are spares.

On most kit builds you have bits left on mine i can see a lot of the bits you have sum are just to small to fit even with micro scope and tweezers if you think you are finished then you are finished Only you will know what bits you have not put on that is as long as you do not meat a rivet counter he will know ;D and send you crazy

Glad I'm not the only one. I have almost exactly the same bits left over. Cheers John

Yes would appaer that I will have similar number over as mention above.
In issue 105 we received bras sheet number 754 where they highlighted in yellow a section, which will be use later on in construction. But have been unable to find when it was used. The question is was it ever used.
Also when working through issue 139 notice at step 32 a picture showing the installation of the five ventilators (part number 1546) to the starboard medium gun redoubt with the photograph taken from the star board side. I notice below the ventilators a number of vent/covers etc, but unable to find when these where fitted. Can someone point out to me where this happened? Also in issue 140 step 44 the same is showen.

Hello degriffiths, Thanks for mentioning this...I had not noticed it!....can't find any vents and covers to fit there either. They are also shown in steps 11 &12 in assy guide 82 but not in assy guide 72 or anywhere in between?...strange! I guess one could use the 'spare' vents & covers from sheet 754 (assy guide 105) to fit here. Difficult to see on photographs of the actual ship but the plan from issue 135 seems to show them partially? Have searched through and can't find any other 'spare' vents or any assy guide which shows the fitting of them. Wonder if anyone else has noticed? Another point worth mentioning are the three markings on the printed deck just forward of these redoubts ( both port & Starboard)which in the photgraphs of the ship are shown as positions for life boat derricks?.Could not find any parts to go here either? Photos of the ship also show 3 keel blocks for a life boat on the deck between the derricks. I may make some up from odds & sods. Wonder were there extra lifeboats here or were they for the smaller boats normally shipped on top of the larger row boats as in the guide? The 4 double door hatches on fret 760 I think go on the sloping deck alonside the catapults. They are shown in some of the photographs on the link below. At least thats where I have put em! and they look right. The railings on etched sheet 764 are the interception grids and they are fitted as shown in assy guide 140 stages 102 to 106 see:- www.bismarck-class.dk/bismarck/gallery/themes/gallbismstarboardmidshipsection.html Cheers John

Hello John
The boats on the main deck were there during the first part of the Bismarck life.
For weight purpose they were removed for operation "Rheinübung" .

Hello Bruno, Thanks for the info. Did the derricks remain in position later or were these also removed? Just wondered if they might have been used to rig the accomodation ladders? John

Hello John, Very good question.... that's generally what is to be said when we have absolutly no idea about the answer. But I guess they have been removed as for operation Rheinübung the german sailors checked for every extra weight: IE: deck boats, bow center anchor, bow end stern flag masts ... For the ladders they might have used the Paravanes facilities but I'm not sure at all. Bruno
