Damn .. ............no Canadians on board (well... not quite, sorry REM but you're resident in UK), so can't congratulate them on the the great spectacle of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games opening ceremony.
Just thought I take the time to pontificate for a few lines.....
So..... Germany and UK have now received all their issues of 'Build the Bismarck', and we here downunder are a mere 10 issues from completion.
I feel I am now in a reasonable position to objectively review the past 2.5 plus years of pleasure in building this model.
Firstly .......
Let me thank both Hachette and Amati for releasing this model and also making it available in OZ in partworks form.
I say this because, given the responsibilities of family life and all those other monetary commitments, I would not currently consider paying a one off large amount of money in one hit for a model at this present time.
The partwork has offered me a less painful, affordable method of enjoying my recreation hours ...
I would also like to comment on a couple of the negative comments posted on the web when the partwork was initially released.
- Too expensive
- Partworks never release quality models
Yes ultimately the model is expensive, but in my humble opinion, it has been worth every penny in the form it has been presented for building.
This partwork is the most detailed and accurate kit form ship model I built to date.
The parts supplied are superbly crisp and of a quality far beyond my expectations.
Any person taking the time to complete this partwork 'as it is' will have a superb accurate showpiece of exquisite detail.
CONGRATULATIONS HACHETTE AND AMATI FOR A FANTASTIC PUBLICATION AND MODEL
