I was wondering how everybody made sure their decks is 100% level from top to bottom?
After fitting all my decks, I discovered with close examination that the deck is actually far from straight, even if it does look like it by looking at it from the top or at a distance.
I got it level as follows: First I made sure that my ship as a whole is level. Use a surface that you tested to be 100% level and then "stick" your ship onto it with prestik or something that holds it nice and firm in place, until you are finished with all your measurements.
I then use a water-level and every 2 to 3 centimeters I marked the bumps from top to bottom with a pencil. Once it was done, I used an electric sander to smooth out the bumps and unevenness.
Careful though, do it step by step, thus mark, sand, test, mark sand, etc. Patience is the virtue here, because one can easily get frustrated if you reckon is goes way to slow and then sand just to long at one place. Rather use finer than coarser sand paper and spend more time on this procedure.
