Hi guys can anyone give me some tips about the railings? the holes are far too small and blocked with paint, tried in vain to unblock with pin as instructed and even if I could unblock them I don't seem to have enough line to go round three times! any suggestions would be appreciated as I'm frantic that I MAY HAVE TO MISS THEM OUT AND SPOIL 3 YEARS HARD WORK.

You could go on line and buy solid railings rather than the supplied ones.
I bought mine last year from Markus. But you should be able to source them from the likes of White Ensign Models.
If you like I will post you what I have left of my nylon thread. PM me if you need it.
The holes in the stantions do look minascule, as I haven't used mine I can let you have them too if you need. That way you can play with them and get them right.
Let me know, I am happy to help.

Although I did'nt use the supplied rails, so cannot comment on the difficulty of getting the paint out of these holes, I did find that a very fine sharp pin rotated in the holes on both sides was enough to clear out the paint in the holes the thread goes through for the rigging.
The offer of the thread and rails stays open Sundance. Just let me know if you decide you want them.
Good luck!

it also helps if you cut the thread at an angle, this way it becomes easier to insert it in the holes.

Hi Chaps. Haven `t started railings yet but a trick I have used on old sailing ship rigging was to put a spot of glue on the end of rope which makes it quite easy to thread. Another option is to get Fishing Line of a suitable gauge.
