I broke my golden rule which is never build a kit that has just landed on the door step, a new kit must go in the stash first!
But the 787 kit from Zvezda is just so exquisite (the Trent engines are little gems) it was unwrapped and plonked straight on the work bench.
Does mean I can go buy something else to go in the stash though!
A very quick build, ready for paint by the end of a weekend . The fit is so good, that no glue is required to fit the wings or stabilizers to the fuselage and the filler tube can stay in the tool box, even the engine pods are a snug press fit that doesn't really need glue to hold them in place. ;D ;D
The only things added were aerial blades and airflow guides for the nacelles which were fashion from scraps of brass from Bissies etched brass frets. and a few PVA blobs for nav lights and sat nav domes. The passenger windows were glazed with PVA.
I bit the bullet and tackled the color scheme for Dreamliner ZA 001 (ZA 001 is only option in the box, but F-decal have a good choice of 787 liveries for the faint of heart) which was a bit of a challenge as my trusty Tamiya spray-works compressor decided to expire rather nosily so I had to resort to Tamiya rattlecans to apply the paint scheme.
A little artistic license to modify Boeings very elegant scheme a little for the sake of sanity and a whole lot of masking tape , holding tongue just so:P and F-decals 787 stencil decals , lashings of Kleer to make her shine from nose to tail and...........
Vroooom! ;D
Aren't those wingtips gorgeous?
