For the brass bits I fill any gaps between joins by applying a drop CA glue into the gap then grabbing an old/cheap needle file and filing over the gap, applying another drop of CA, file etc until the gap is filled followed by a buff with an emery board.
A soak in acetone followed by a good wire brushing removes CA and brass residue from the file if it gets clogged to the point where it goes lovely and shiny.
