I'm a bit confused as to which glue I should use and where to source it. Can someone pint me in the right direction.
The supplied glue turns out not to be waterproof and I understand from somewhere on this forum that the Cornish shop no longer carries the product.
I have found white glue in the Paris DIY shops which is marked as resistant but I'm not convinced that this is the same as "proof".
I can't find Evostick weatherproof here. What have people generally decided to use, please, for their sailable models. Ta.

The Evostik weatherproof glue should not be immersed in water unprotected, but I have used it in sailing models before with no trouble, as it is usually protected by the surface finishes, which must always be repaired if they get chipped. For a real sailing dinghy, I used CASCAMITE to repair some damage to the wood. This is fully waterproof and is one of the ones used by professional boat builders. It comes in powder form, mixed with water and takes about 6 hours to go off fully, during which clamping is required. It is also very expensive, and so not really suitable for model making (although some of early models used it). I also used it when making a rocking horse, as it is VERY strong! Suggest that you try your water resistant glue on scrap joining two pieces together, then immerse in water, when sealed and painted, for some hours and see what happens!!!! Defininitely DO NOT USE the Hachette glue however, only for static models!!!

you should be fine using the weatherproof glue as it will not have water on it when painted and the inside treated But still wise to ask

I have used Gorilla Glue (the polyurethane version). It is 100% waterproof (so it claims), and because it foams when curing it acts as filler between the planks, so avoiding voids. I know polyurethane glues are used in the boat industry.

it's ok as long as your sealing works by 100%....
(don't know if paint seals by 100%)

That might depend on the coverage of the paint as well. Just a thought
