Just to clarify Markus comments:
When I discovered the r/c kit by Markus, I already had built the "skeleton", but only partially planked it.
Looking at his diagrams, I found that I needed to do quite a bit of modification to fit the third prop (and the other two motors!).
I marked up the line of cut needed for the 3rd. prop, and carefully drilled from each end in the original keel. Although planking the rest of the hull , I kept the stern section down to two planks only to give me access.
Due to only having "short" drills of upto 4.5mm dia, this still left a central section untouched. I got over this by heating up a long 6 inch nail of 4mm dia on the gas hob and "burnt" out the length required!
I then removed the excess wood from the front part of the keel, as per Markus diag, using a flat hacksaw blade (minus its holder). I also used a power file to remove other excess wood, such as where the battery holder fits, making two semicirculkar cuts for the two outboard motors in rib.12.
I have also drilled out a 4.5mm hole in the resin part D using a pillar drill to keep it square.
On my model, I have found it necessary to lift part D by a planks thickness to get the corret alighment and hull shape.
I have now completed the hull planking at the stern to part 15.
I am now looking at fastening the 3rd. prop shaft into place as I would like fix it, then fasten supports either side of the cut in the keel, properly sealed to keep out water. This also means bonding the prop shaft to part D for the same reason and then fastening part D permanently in place, although beit 20 issues too early (I cannot see any reason why not). I want to do this before the next issue, when the stern planking is due to be completed.
I still have some slight tweaking to do to ensure prop shaft properly aligned and stress free.
(checking with the motor temp in place shows that the motor spindle and the prop shaft are exactly in line in all dimensions).
Markus says to leave the outer shafts until later, so I presume a planked hull will be of no problem?
