Hi Guys Thought you might like to know about something very special for doing rigging. I've been building plastic ship models for some time and the problems I always had with rigging was getting the line tight enough without bending the masts etc. out of shape. Also rigging being damaged once it's done. A while back I was at the Illawarra Model Expo near Wollongong in New South Wales, Australia and happened accross this stuff called E Z Line. It's rubberised thread and comes in fine or heavy, in white, black, green and rust colours. It's made from an elastic polymer that stretches to 7 times it's own length. It's very easy to use for rigging, as you don't have to stretch it that much to make it taught, so it won't pull things out of alignment. It also makes the rigging relatively safe once assembled as it just flexes and bounces straight back if touched , unlike invisible mending thread, nylon etc. etc. I got this line from Red Roo Models, P O Box 113, Glen Waverley, Victoria 3150, Australia Phone +613 95600695 Email: redroo@bigpond.net.au The manufacturer is Berkshire Junction, 347 West Road, Adams, MA 01220. Email Info@berkshirejunction.com. Website www.berkshirejunction.comI hope this product will save you all alot of frustration and headaches. Steve

Thanks Steve, Just wondering if there was a lifespan on this stuff. As with alot of elastic based threads and the likes they only have a short lifespan due to the inherent properties of elastic which is usually 5 to 7 years. After that it starts to crumble and harden and then break. Just a thought for you to look out for. Ian

Thanks Steve0. I'd seen this stuff on the net but then forgot where. I'm going to email them to see if they accept PayPal and will ship overseas.

Hi Folks,
I can strongly recommend the EZ-Line. I've got a modell of the South Goodwin Lighship rigged with that stuff, which I built about 2 years ago. The material ist still in the same condition as I built it.
I'll probably also use if for my Bismarck.
Cheers
Paul

No need to rush, we are still a year away from rigging.
