So I had a thought so my clamps are breaking and I tried to discover how they are and what they are made of. So I thought were have I seen this type of thread before. Then it dawned on me it looks like the bottom of a picture hook hanger, you know the one that either have a hook or a straight rigt angle. So I found the smallest one that I could and tried it out. Well hey its excactly the same. The right angle hooks allow you to have something to hold when you screw it in. I then got a spare plamk and cut it into small lengths about 15mm long and then I drilled a hole big eneough to allow the picture hook to pass through it. I then just use the new clamp the same was as I would with the plastic ones without the breaking that is. So no need to spend too much money as my box of hooks were $3 for twenty instead of $50. And my clamps will not break as they are one piece straight through. Thanks for Reading MaTtYb

Nice one, Matt. I had been thinking along the same lines but couldn't find anything with a thread small enough (1-1.5mm) so as not to split the 4mm thick frames. What thread size are yours?
