I've been thinking about other ways to do the cutting out. Knife I was using just wasn't working to well, nearly ended up cutting me a few times. I have a saw blade what that will go through the hole of my largest drill bit, so once I have some holes drilled I can do the cutting out a lot easier. Also was hoping to find the motors and ESC's out here as it would be a lot cheaper. 330 Euro is roughly 500 AUD. There is a few places here, but also need to save up for a night course I want to do in May building the "Blue Nose", (A 1921 fishing schooner at 1/100 scale) and need to pay off visa as well. I'm also missing issue 21, it's on back order. Having trouble finding your pics on imageshack.

LoL yeah. But since there is a labour shortage out here in Aus, (or so the government would have us believe!!!). I think I will have to get some people in from somewhere overseas.

Sky, Here I come with some comments.......in pic 2 onthe right side of the pic down on the lowest cut piece of the keel ....that is the line you need to follow through at that level through to the next keel section. in the left side of thekeel you will see the pencil line .....cut down to it. That will get your keel bottom section to 10 mm tall. NOW as for the upper part of your cut which has angled upward, seeing as you have cut too high you may as well cut the 2 (two) upper sections both sides out completely. This will not hurt the boat as you have all the upper section of the frame already glued to hold it together. You can replace the panels with some the same size as the bottom keel and only put them in as high as the middle of the rib frames as you will be putting control equipment in those two compartments.
Look at my build...at my rib and keel mods , then look at the photo of Markus Radio equip placement inside the hull.

Think for the last of the cutting i'll use a hacksaw. I had major problems with the saw I was using. Was sure I was cutting nice and straight too . Will have to have a think about cutting out the rest at the top, though it should be easy with the hacksaw and hopefully a straighter cut. ;D

Try a stanley knife. Cut small amounts each cut....dont go for the big kill....cos you will kill the boat. I take forever to cut so if you make a mistake you make a LITTLE mistake...Yoy have all the time in the world. slowly ...slowly
Mate really look at my cuts pages one and two ...and page five 5 for markus's equip. I also use files alot one is round about 5 or 6 mm and the other is 15 mm wide one side flat the other side curved. My three main tools

yeah. I was using a knife and ended up nearly cutting me more than the boat. Not even sure where the stanley knife is, or even if the blade is any good. I'll hunt it down and give it a go. post 300
