Okay before you look at the Pics i must explain the filler. The first layer of planking went a little bit holey and so i needed a lot of filelr due to funds being alltime low i had to use some very dark stuff found int he garage. All i got so far will post more when sanded and can be turned back over

Its not that bad mate and at least you have the second lot of planking to cover it up. How did you attach the first lot of planks, clamps? Is this your first build of this kind? I really don't envy you all that sanding Are you doing the Static or R/C version? Oh and that black and red truck in the background is that technique lego? Always wanted to do a large scale technique build but never had enough money.

One thing i for got to mention and that is the stern resin part will need either pullin off or modyfying as it died very lob sided thinking it might b easier to do the second planking then rub down to shape (of course rub 1st planking down before applying second)

Looking OK Russ. Full marks for ingenuity in your choice of filler. The bottom of the hull will eventually be painted red anyway! Best to get the hull as perfect as you can before second planking, as it will make life a lot easier if you do. (remember that any damage to the first layer is easily repaired, but fatal to the second layer).

Looking good, at least the filler will be hidden by the 2nd layer. What was the make of the filler stuff ? I love the large lego technic truck in the background, only can't get it out here.

The filler is ronseal Multi purpose Wood Filler.
The colour could have been a better colour but at least it will be hidden.

The colour dosen't look too bad, at least it wasn't something like flouro pink. rofl Not every lego model comes down under which is bit annoying really. There all tieded up - hehehehe ;D

Looks fine to me mate. Looking good, and the second layer of planking will cover it up no problem.

Mate I would do all your second planking then fit the 2 stern parts and the bow part. I have and it means I can get a proper flush fit to the second lot of planking. I also have to do some squaring up of part 70 or otherwise a bucket load of filler is needed

Hmmm yer that sounds lot better of an idea but between part 41 and resin part 70 there is a massive gap that will need filling in so it hink it best really to put the resin part on first, unless any one no of a way i can fill hole in with second planking on? ??

Well with your second planking its not going to cover over part 70 at all is it? With the second planking just cut the second load of planking roughly then sand it down to be flush. Then you can stick part 70 on and get a better idea if it all lines up with the second layer. And I too have issues with part 70, namely i have the same gap you do and it also protrudes a good 3-4mm beyond the back of the top decking. See here to see what I mean: buildthebismark.proboards52.com/index.cgi?board=intro&action=display&thread=1200617092If your not sure what I mean by over haning the rear parts etc, I can post a pic for you.
