With the smoke generator in your thread is the funnel used to store the fluid?
If i want to rotate both the 4 primary guns and then the secondary weapons am i correct in thinking i need 4 channel radio?

(standard smoke generators have a hose system or a really small reservoir) at least 3ch, but 4ch is better - you cannot have enough channels ;D markus

Does the smoke system in your photos require a channel to work?

Does the smoke system in your photos require a channel to work? only if you want to switch smoke on/off via transmitter. you can simply wire the smoke generator to the esc input, so you have smoke all the time markus

I think it makes more sense to have it on all the time. Ive been looking at other systems and they all involve making holes in the decks which i dont fancy having seen how much structure is under the deck.

Hello Markus. I have never had a ship that smoked before. Looking at your smoke generator. When the fluid is added to the funnel is it totally submerged? Does the generator run hot and therefore must be kept away from the plastic funnel? Thanks for any help

I would agree with Matts comments, does the heating element raise the temperature of the smoke oil so that it smokes, in which case, what will happen to the plastic funnel?

indeed, the smoke generator heats the oil for smoking, but only the heating element on the right produces heat only the white tube on the left must be submerged - it doesn't get hot, neither the wires do. tested with half an hour of continious smoke, almost no warming of the plastic mounting the smoke generator in the middle of the funnel gives a good 10mm distance to the plastic, enough to avoid a meltdown ;D

hmmm, there's not really a way to produce black smoke without completely burning the model down, is there? might've been cool otherwise, but I think white smoke would ruin it for me... but I still have over two years to go so I 'll think about it later ( hoping markus is still around when that time comes ;D)

hoping markus is still around when that time comes ;D As long as he stays away from any swordfish torpedo planes while sailing his finished model he should be all right. ;D
