Would it not be a good idea to bounce the build problems that have surfaced to date in Germany on to Hachette in the UK? Whilst I appreciate it is Amati product but who is responsible for ensuring the mag's info is accurate?....Hachette! We can do that in a new thread. The most problems came up with the resin parts. But keep in mind to use a mounting jig, to keep the keel with its frames stable during building the hull. I think there are some pictures in the building reports from the german modelers.

Hi Chrispy, Amati suggests to use muslin bandage (gauze bandage) together with white glue to seal and stiffen the inner sections of the hull. That sounds like an odd suggestion - White glue is flexible and not likely to stiffen the hull very much. What's the feedback from the German builder's ? Sorry, Amati wants the white glue to be used, that was supplied with the first edition. Since this is wood glue, its turns hard once it dried. I didnĀ“t use the glue from Amati, but bought a good one in the near DIY superstore. The problem is, while the model is put beside (while you are waiting for the next issue... ;D) temperature and humidity will do their job. So using the muslin bandage helps to prevent the hull bending.

Hope you can get motors and shafts with out the remote as it is a cheep and cheerfully one and has not got any where near the wright amount of Chanel's to do the ship Justis and the price is on the expensive side as 2 Chanel are only around 30-50 pounds depending on make but me thinks you will have to use there motors. Will keep looking for similar ones on the net

hi viking there kit is gona be expecive they think that every one will buy it because its the "right one" will i could probs pick up a better kit for the same price you might want to make sure that you have some space in the hull for the motors and kit as i expect that you will need to cut a rib or to out as well as drill through everything i also recommend that you make a grease box for your were the shaft meets the water and a "sort of box" consisting of a bace laid down between one rib (haven't seen amati's plans yet ) and then use poxy to make a few sides and dont for get to put some good rubber bands around the bace before you put it in then you can just put the lid under the bands but watch out whilst your receiver and servo is in there (poss motors as well) you might even want to put your receiver into a balloon to keep all water out ive done this before and i think its a good system.

A balloon to keep the receiver dry is a great idea. A lot of model boats use a waterproof box to put the radio gear in, but many cars use the 'balloon' method as they dont have the space for a box.

yeh i used both as the box keeps the servos der as best as you make the top seal the balloon makes it easy for a quick change of crystal
