Yes, quite interesting, isn't it?
Mark, the eleven days I was referring to, was the time period between the day I directed our new recruit to Paul's post (15 July) and yesterday. Oh Lord!
;D ;D ;D

I must have missed those, Chill! Here are some piccies of the finished German EMC type sea mines. Most of the PE was replaced for 0.5mm plastic card, 0.4mm brass rods, plus homemade stuff from the kitchen for better matching. And you're welcome to say I'm crazy when you'll know that shackles come from 1:72 cannibalized 'Tiger' tanks, just shortly before finding with the help of a friend this website in Germany, selling perfect ones in resin for the purpose! ;D www.tl-modellbau.de/TL-Plus-Ladegueter-1-87/Schaekel-Set-1-87.htmlAs for the 0.4mm tow cables, they come from 'Karaya' in Poland and are perfect for all kinds of projects and scales. Beside, they are quite affordable: www.models.karaya.pl/eng/cables1.htmlCheers, rpalmacci.free.fr

It's not mine - it's yours !
Ok - ok - I'll grab my coat on the way out. Luckily Roberts modelling is far better than my jokes.

A very short bit of progress... I think to be on the way of redoing all the wooden slats on the deck. The PE ones aren't truly accurate! rpalmacci.free.fr

hi having just prchased this model i have spent a few hours looking through the posts as i am interested in rc ing this kit but have never done a boat before i dont know where to start so i am looking for some advice as 1) what motors, shafts and props to use ( i would like to have all 3 props ) but open to recommendations 2)what are people using for the rudders- are the kit ones being used? thanks Hi Gavin, I'm coming back to you since I may have found the answer to your question on how to RC your E-boat. Sorry for being late, but: "Better later than never!" Apparently, Roel, another Dutchman, HAS been using two types of motors for his boat. Excuse-me, I'm no wizard in that field, but it could be a good idea trying to be in touch somehow on his Dutch forum. In the meanwhile, here are his posts from a British forum where he explains how he did it, and a link to an amazing video showing the Lürssen effect on his scale model. www.modelboats.co.uk/forums/postings.asp?th=35725www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Di11LuII1kRoel, last name, van Essen is one of the moderators of 'modelbouwforum.nl'. You could try this way to get in touch with him: www.modelbouwforum.nl/forums/bouwverslagen-schepen/72708-bouwverslag-8ste-schnellboot-flottille-italeri-1-35-a-12.htmlCheers and good luck.

Hi boys, After having been confined for a long period in my den, here's some more progress at last. You’ll have to forgive me for the poor quality of my photos, but even in macro position, I can't unfortunately do any better... I only hope you'll be able to fathom what I hardly tried to improve! Have all a very good and sunny Sunday, wherever you are! A new diagram is now available on my site: the pedestal for the 2cm four barreled MG38 cannon: rpalmacci.free.fr
