Welcome to the forum Bill. This is a static model but no doubt an experienced builder could do an RC version - but it aint me

Nice looking pieces so far!
Thinking of doing this one next but they are not releasing this one in South Africa but I am making alternative arrangements to get it.
How would you rate the Yamato kit so far against the Bismarck? From what I have seen so far it does not seem quite as detailed.

Ive had my second delivery of goodies, but rain's stopped play a little bit. I need to do quite a bit of spray painting on the metal bits but cvause I can only do it outside (no shed or garage) evey time i have opportunity the weahters been terrible. So, ive only really progressed the wooden parts at the moment. As before, most joints fit together fantastically well, here are a couple of pictures. The windows are a (I must not write naughty words) to paint on the bridge beacuse they are sooo small.... This is the overall so far, the long shot! and this is a bit closer... Next up is a load of metal work - as soon as the weather at the weekend brightens up i can get priming and painting!

Hi,
I have now recieved my first batch of parts for the Yamato and have a few questions.
I am assuming you didn't get the mettal gun and control tower with your first issue? As all I have for my first delivery is wooden parts in plastic bags? It says I have Yamato 01 and 02 so maybe the metal comes in 03 and 04?
Also how long after delivery did you get the email with the instructions in? Do you have to go and download it somewhere or something?
Oh and it says in the description I should get a March Book Pack but there were only the wooden bits?

Hi AFK. Up to now i have received my e-mail a couple of days before the parts arrive. Ive gone for the 22 month option so get 4 every 2 months. If i am not mistaken i think the gun and bridge were with issues 3-4.

I have subscribed to the 22 parts, and am getting both metal and wooden bits each time. Just had an e:mail that my fourth pack is on its way. Pack three was mostly wood, but still have some metal bits (including tiny binoculars for the control tower) On each front page of the instructions it deatils the bits you should get, so you should get in contact with customer services if you are missing anything

I have been doing more work to the control tower, but think I will need to respray it as it is getting a bit rough, and also ive cocked up the windows, pretty badly trying to paint them So I wont show a photo. The hull is coming along nicely and I have been doing the the bows. see photo. one tip, you have to build up the bits in the picture and sometimes they do not lie flush with the previous piece - i found that flipping them over and trying again always worked and they ended up nice and flush. The stern structure is coming together nicely:

Well I just sent a strongly worded email to them as its beyond a joke how long its been for them to send me issue 1. They said it got sent out on the 20th March and I still haven't recieved anything from them and its been 28 days. I even compared their level of customer service with Hachette in the email lol, not that it will make the slightest bit of difference!!!
I am gonna go into my local post office though and see if they have anything on their shelves maybe there has been a mix up or something.
