Neat job on the running gear Markus. Couldn't get it much lower ! Looking forward to seeing the sea trials

Great stuff - again! - Markus.
Just read a magazine article on the breaking of the France/Norway.

thanks for the comments, guys indeed, it's a shame what happens to most of all those beautiful ships - either sunk or destroyed just imagine the titanic or bismarck as a museum in a harbor, this would be a stunning experience btw, waiting all day for the rain to end - i'm really keen on putting her into the pond...

just uploading a video.. must admit i'm not satisfied with the overall stability on the water seems i'll have to re-design the superstructure by removing as much plastic as possible to avoid capsizing - hence there's still lots of parts missing: lifeboats, masts, ....

No ducks were harmed during the initial sea trials of this vessel.

Hi Markus,
Looking very nice.
You are probably right, the model may be a bit heavy in the superstuctures but remember she is not a warship and turning a very sharp way is not a real necessity for her.
Otherwise the passangers "Ladies and Gentlemen" will probably poor their drink off the glass, slide on the floor when dancing. and dive off the swimming pool ... ;D ;D ;D

ordered some 1:100 bismarck laser-cut deck sheets - not really scale, but it looks good to me

managed to reduce the weight of the superstructure massively by removing the 'floor' behind the windows these floors with 20-30mm width created a really nice indirect illumination, but they also created additional weight high above the waterline now the flourescent tubes are visible through the windows - but that's the compromise for a working model

I like the planking Markus. It may be over scale, but it does look right on the model.

Hi Markus,
Very nice job as usual.
Maybe a sheet of cooking paper (rather than tracing paper because of possible warming of components) could be light enough and will smoothen the lights ?
