That looks very nice Markus. There is something about a new model boat kit with lots of wood and fittings. You don't get that with a partwork ! Same can be said about Airfix kits.... ;D

found out that this kit is a mixture of build-out-of-the-box and scratch build.. the latest instructions (jan. 2010) are stated as non-final - there's no pictures of a 100% finshed model. also there are some minor construction mistakes: ...the five pre-formed parts for the stern are about 15mm(!) too high ...the rudder lever won't fit without major modification ... so this kit is a bit more challenging than the hachette bismarck although there's no brass parts - it's fun building a ship by a detailed full-size plan, never did that before.. this kit will keep me busy for at least one year ;D the stern section - cut down and modified to make the rudder work the bow section - modified to install four 30cm flourescent lamps later
