Hello. I`ve just completed issue 41 but there is still a small area of hull planking to do on the bottom, either side of the centre planking. The issue doesn`t say to complete this. Is it completed in a later issue or do you just go ahead and finish it? Also what`s to become of the small strip of planking that runs onto the resin stern piece, also from issue 41. Is it trimmed off or left alone?

just finish it off, some people have raised the resin part, (part d) 1mm or so. So it's then flush with the 2nd layer planking. See my build diary for 1 example of the bottom layer planking.

Is it trimmed off or left alone? Greetings 747..................sounds like a Jumbo of a name... I've received issue 41 this week too. As for what to do next, or whats coming up, I have saved the following site to my favourites for reference. It's in German, but the piccies from the book tell the story, week by week. They are almost at issue 90. www.subifa.de/heftvorschau/die_bismarck_aktuell.htmWeek 42 finishes instructions for the 2nd layer of planking, but I'm going ahead anyway, because I have not followed their guidelines. As for the timber along the resin section, unless there is a false keel, which I can find no evidence of, I presume instructions will be to sand it flat at some stage. I have lifted my resin section about 1 mm so the planking butts flush against it I think everyone has approached this in a different way, so I have attached piccies of my attempt to give you an idea. It has work out well Here is a photo from a posting elsewhere, from about 3 weeks ago Also, as you can see from these final 3 pics, I have continued the hull planking, following the natural curve created by the planks. Hope this helps Baz

Don't mean to be funny, but why are there 2 holes in the aft end of your stern resin piece Baz?

Thanks for your help folks. Unfortunately I`ve already araldited the resin stern piece on so it`s going nowhere, I guess I`ll have to sand or cut the small strip of planking that runs on to it at some stage

Good idea putting in the smoke generators.
The Genesis CD is Ok, but 'Seconds Out' is still they're best album.

The Genesis CD is Ok, but 'Seconds Out' is still they're best album. I still have a soft spot for my ancient tape - A Trick of the Tail. Sans Peter Gabriel though.................. .............................

I saw them on the Seconds Out tour, phenomenal show with Chester Thompson and Phil doing these massive drum solos. However, it still does not compare to The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway tour, absolutely amazing chemistry, there's a re-union for you, Gabriel back in the fold. I'll have to soothe my gig-thirst with Clapton and The Police.
