ISSUE 63
Today assembled this weeks parts, this was tricky to solder, but never the less completed in a few hours. The way I did this was tin the surfaces to be joined, and then add a little more heat and then sweat the pieces together. Its very fiddly and I am sure that by glueing the parts is quicker, but in this household everything has to be built to withstand the cat. She likes to walk the decks. The second cat couldn't care less how it is. I get my issues each week, and have had no problems with supply. Next week [64] I get the last few bits for this superstructure and then will post a picture. The base I have strengthened with cross members made to stop cat from doing her own alterations. These parts were taken from the off cuts from previous frets. Also made 2nd door for hangar, thats been painted and picture to be posted later today.

Showing extra hangar door in its slightly open position. The stainless steel pipework needs the pipe brackets put on and then painted up. The printed decking is to be glued down in 2 weeks time once the last piece of curved railings arrive. These next pictures are of the location holes and dowel pins for easy location. I have done all the major partworks like this so at the final hour, hopefully everything should be placed ok. On this picture I have shown inlaid a small brass floor so the printed decking is not punctured in building. And this picture as of today of where I am up to. 11/07/2009Statistic - 977 parts

That's looking excellent. I love your stand as well. YEP Summer in July in NZ ........ not ...... ;D Looking great Netties Interesting statistic ..... almost 1,000 parts to date. Don't expect to reach Poul's 7,000 with Bissie, but should be well over 3,000's worth. Baz

ISSUE 64
Statistic - 998 parts
Now that this work is done its nice to see some completion to this structure and its looking nice. Just the small finishing touches to be done over the complete series. Part 465 is VERY FRAGILE and needs to handled very gently. However all soldered together ok. Its all painted and pictures up tonight sometime. I am happy with my progress so far.

This is a good site that I am visiting OFTEN. www.bismarck-class.dk/bismarck/bismarck_menu.htmlThe paint scheme's URL is: www.bismarck-class.dk/bismarck/paint_schemes/paintbism1941rheinubung.htmlPainted this weeks brass work, as usual I am soldering these fiddly bits and going mad as well. However the patience doing this is paying off. Outside in the dark, its blowing a gale and the spray is being carried away as soon as it leaves the can, I am amazed at how the paint makes this part look so awesome. The down side is some of the paint has gone on the wifes washing - namely her underwear, it's strange how it isn't sticking to my underwear while the clothes line spins around in the wind........................ If anyone else is soldering as I am, I am putting a small blob at the parts where there is a score line for bending. This brings the part back to the same sort of sizing and strengthens the join/bend. Pics
