well , a moment has come that i thought i could survive past, but with bills mounting and family commitments always no. 1 . im afraid that i have to sell my beloved bismarck, i know i'll never get back what i paid for her, but i will have to settle for the best offer i can get. it's posted in model shops here at home as well shops and papers etc for 3 weeks , then if nothing happens , then it's ebay. the story so far with her. i am finished up to issue 50. hull is finished , and 3 coats of primer with filler, sanding between each coat for full sealer. 1 coat of finish in camo is on , then wet sanded and ready for final coat, which i was'nt planing on doing until motor was installed. i have the 140 issues plus the r/c and motor bought plus 4 binders. if you know of anybody interested in this model, pass them on my e/mail which is jcmanu@imagine.ie at the end of the 3 weeks any offer over the amount that i have written down here at home , the model is theirs, otherwise it goes onto ebay. post is seperate as if it is sold, i dont know what country it will be going to. im also selling my substancial ho/oo railway set and my earth moon and sun orbiter. i'll still have the lancaster to keep me ticking over and my baby nimitz as well. nimitz eventually will be passed onto my son, who adores it, and she will never be sold as she holds a very special place in my heart. thank you all jc

Disappointing it is JC but you are doing it for the right reasons. Family comes first and at the end of the day its just a model boat... Good luck with the sale - hope it goes well mate.

..... at the end of the 3 weeks any offer over the amount that i have written down here at home , the model is theirs, otherwise it goes onto ebay ..... JC, If, after the 3 weeks, you haven't got an offer with your reserve price, then please email me the price with an estimate of shipping costs to Australia. I would hate to see your Bissy going onto ebay, as the models there, especially models not yet finished, never seem to reach anywhere near their worth. If your price is then within my reach (I am retired so my funds are somewhat limited), I would love to continue your build and post pictures of the progress in this forum.

That's a really nice idea Skyfire except my budget just got blown with a sub, photoetch and resin crew.
If people chip in, how do you handle the actual build and logistics of it being in only one place.
I think it would be nice for someone to finish it and then perhaps donate it to a museum or other similar place.

Just logged in for the first time in a couple of days, sorry to see you selling your Bissie JC, I hope somebody on the forum can buy it and 'keep it in the family' so to speak.
Good luck.
