Hope it's well worth the wait, certainly looks like it! Only downside is that I've still to finish the Bissy and no doubt will be chomping at the bit when the issues start arriving. Not being rude, but boy what a lovely pair they will be!

I just couldnt resist and subscribed yesterday and got a confirmation email back ok. Have emailed them though asking them to confirm that this is going to be the complete series, i got burned a few years ago when they released it before and then cancelled it after 5 issues. Will let everone know what they say when they reply.

Oh my GOD!
This is the model I've been praying for, I'm gonna subscribe, and if it looks good I may have to cancel the Tiger tank to build it. I can't affor them both, so I've got to choose one, and my natural instinct is for the Hood.
Hows your Bissy comming along Nap? Been a loooong time since you updated your diary!!

Hood issue 1 bought and subscription form sent off. It looks very good and seems to follow same route as Bismarck, although the main guns are cast as white metal, rather than a criss-cross wood construction. Still got some 5 to 6 issues of Bismarck to finish but the initial issues of Hood seem to be like bissy with construction of the frame, which only takes an hour or so for each issue, so no major interference.
Quality of woodwork is good and already cut out (although it was useful to have the spare wood from the cutout sheets for bissy to do repairs, strengthening and modifications)

I will cancel The Endeavour and the Lancaster to do this, thankfully only up to issue 5 on the Endeavour halfway through the Lanc, but to be honest I lost interest in the Lanc months ago. and have loads of unopened issues. And my Bissie is almost finished.

De Agostini Sink the HOOD But Hachette refloat it !!Taken from another website :---- Posted by De Agostini Admin yesterday into the other Hood topic Dear All, We would like to thank you for your enthusiasm and support for Build the HMS Hood. Unfortunately, we have had to suspend publication of the series for the foreseeable future. Whether you have taken out a postal subscription to the publication, or are a customer who purchased through a newsagent, we would like to be able to advise you when the series resumes and send you a copy of issue 5 free of charge. - For newsagent customers, you can register for your free issue 5 when the series resumes by filling in your details on the insert in issue 4 and send it back to us. - For postal subscribers, we have your records on file and when the series resumes you will automatically receive a free issue 5. You will be receiving a notification to this effect from our fulfillment house. As with all partwork’s the product continues to be improved and engineered as part of the launch process. This enables us to produce the best possible product for our customers. On this occasion we need to temporarily suspend Build the HMS Hood and look at improving the product. As soon as we have any information with regard to resuming the series, we will update everyone via the forum on our website, our ModelSpace main site pages and our De Agostini www.deagostini.co.uk main site. So please watch these spaces for updates. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Once again, thank you for your support. Many thanks Admin. --------------------------------------------------------------- However: Hachette seems to have brought out a rival www.buildabattleship.co.uk/index.html

Confusion !
I have just spoken to the DeAgostini hotline and they know nothing about any cancellation but said to call back in a week.
I then spoke to the Hachette hotline (same number as for Bismarck). They admitted that they are part of the same organisation as DeAgostini but operate separately and, COINCIDENTALLY, have launched their own version of The Hood (same scale as Bismarck and the DeAgostini Hood) and are taking orders for it. They know nothing of any cancellation of the DeAgostini version.
Looking at the advertisement for the first few issues of the Hachette Hood, it seems to be constructed in an almost identical manner as the Bismarck hull frames and differently to those of the DeAgostini version.
"Confusion to the Enemy" seems to be the order of the day, unfortunately, in this case, the enemy appears to be us, the customers.
Personally, I would prefer to build the Hachette version but have registered with DeAgostini. I will see what happens over the next week.

I'm hedging my bets and have subscribed to both of em!
Like you popeye, I'd prefer it if hachette were the one to do the partwork.
Fingers crossed!!

I have the first 2 issues of deagostini hood, and have subscribed to hachette hood, their issue 1 starts midships like their bismarck, deagostini's starts at the bow. metal castings for one of the main turrets are included the quality is crap. however i shall perservere with both subscriptions for a short while

I think the turrets are supposed to receive an outer shell with the detailing on them.
There are a few issues with the DeAg build, but I must say that the hull detailing with the plating on it does look good.
