the etched parts are simply glued with superglue. the bulleyes on the etchings have a diameter of 2,2mm, so if you drill the wood at the correct place a 2,5mm hole will do

From what i know about using etched parts (and my knowledge is small) the best things to have is a table with a white or black surface (i.e. big sheet of A2 card from an art shop). This allows you to see everything as the parts are tiny (and i stress the TINY). good overhead light to show up the brass bits, and the proper tools. Sharp flat pliers for bending. A etch-mate would be good : www.aircraftresourcecenter.com/tnt1/001-100/TNT008_HoldNFold_Filak/TNT008.htmAnd a magnifying glass! you all got your free one in the subscription....right? The hold and fold thing i would recommend, looking at all of the etch stuff thats coming up, i will be shelling out for one!

I have bought a magnifier table lamp from QVC. Try www.qvcuk.com and put 556272 in the search bar. I will be using it for the etched parts. Cheep as well.

Further more to Chris's question I assume before any painting is done would the brass parts have to be 'keyed' or sprayed to ensure what ever paint adhered to the surface of the brass?
