and yours looks great to eric, did you use pins or clamps for the planking?

I used clamps for the easy bits, then pins when clamps no longer reached. for the last 6 on the bow round the bulbus forefoot I soaked the planks in hot water then held them in place till next day. Then they were very easy to pin. NON of this could have worked without the great people round here to help us beginners. THANKS ALL!!!

yeah....great work gents, quick question for mark, what am I doing wrong if the thread on the planking clamp wears down, could it just be a defective one or should I be doing a pre-hole? And what is the tool you were using, hang on...never mind found it on weekly build .....and the evo-stik works great and am moving along slowly but steadly now, cheers robert

hi markus, well as i am new to build of this calibre and rc as opposed to static models, both would be advantagous for me, if youhave the time. you can put it as simply as possible or recommend a good read on rc propulsions. going to canada in a few weeks for holidays and am picking p a more novice build to get me in the water sooner than this build. cheers robert

Hi Markus, thanks for that, I think I will go with the 2 motor system that Hachette will be supplying. When I get to that stage. Cheers Robert

word to the wise....for those starting to do planking using the clamps....doh as homer would say, I found what the pin vise and drill bit are for, as I thought the clamps were self tapping and ripped the threads off one, anyway life is a learning session and so is this webpage so just thought i'd pass on the tip. waiting for pin vise in post thanks gents robert
