Looking great, Matrix. I'm a newbie to this ship building milarkey, too but this place is great for picking up tips from our resident vets.

Ok just a quick update as my Modelling pins have finally turned up , so I can now continue with the second planking yey!!! Here are my beautiful pins, was expecting white ones but sods law I got Pink!!! Also from looking at Swanrail's pictures and talking to him I have also decided to add some strips of wood inbetween the frames for support and also so I can run a strip of foam under the deck for better waterproofing. Things still to do are: Attach the extended plank above the deck to better waterseal the deck. This will include bending some plank round resin part 70. Purchase and fit some magnets to replace deck screws. Oh and finish the second planking layer, this will be pure bliss now with the pins

Looking good!! Might I suggest that you coat the inside of your hull with resin in addition to what you already have. This will make the hull much stronger and completely water resistant so if any water did get in you would not get any damage.

Hi AFK, Only just realised you are of the female persuasion after seeing your pic in the "Show us yer face" thread! (Didn't notice it under your name!) Not being sexist but you have done a fantastic job. Did you get your skills from a "mind meld"? ;D

David Hi David, Well I hadn't found this website when I was looking for some pins and after doing a good google could only find a US shop that did the pins (I have also have their Yellow ones but prefer the pink ones lol)) Here is the site I got them from, it ends up being around $10 to ship it so quite expensive but I couldn't find a UK shop that had any, wish I found this forum sooner Pins: www.hobby-lobby.com/pins.htmAnd Mike B yeah I am the best of buds with Spoke ;D TBH I have always liked building things, was lego and technique lego when I was younger. Now I am in the big boys world I thought I would show us girls arn't completely useless in building things

Hi, Well thought I would post a little update of my progress. I am now onto issue 39 and back to planking sigh God I will be sooo happy when I have done this second layer of planking lol. So I have now fitted the Bilge Keel, although the template (Part 194) is a right git to attach. When anyone else gets to this stage I would say score it really well, use sellotape and drawing pins as its too thick for modelling pins. I also decided to araldite the bilge keels as I feel it will give a stronger bond than PVA glue, specially as they will get bashed around a bit. So I am now back to planking, but I will be doing extending the planking at the top this weekend.

Its called a cutting mat I think nm. Basically I cut my wood with my craft knife on there to stop it damaging the table. You should be able to find it in any Art & Craft shop, I also think it kind of seals up if you put any cuts into it, very handy thing.
