Yeah tell me about it. I have gotten most of my hull sanded to what I think is a smooth finish but I know once I apply the primer all that will change lol. But I have now ordered my deck planking and thats going to be a patience process.

I think I get visits from the dent elf. I put the hull away after a good session of sanding; and next day there is a new dent, which I am positive was not there before. I believe she is a friend of the Hair Loss Fairy & the Verruca Gnome

Well not much done at all recently as my knife slipped at the weekend and my thumb came of worse : Anyway I have run into a little problem and was wondering if you could come up with some ideas as I am baffled. Ok I have done the side planking extension and the foredeck mod and now the foredeck won't sit down far enough to enable me to fit on the deck planking margins and have them flush with the extended side planking. I have sanded and filed and am baffled. Here are some pics: Here is the underside of the main deck joined to the foredeck, all I can think is its the small strips of wood at the sides I used that is the problem. Here is a shot of the slots I cut out of the frames to accomodate the foredeck mod: And here is the deck fitted, as you can see it is just the front part that is too high: I do have a plan though and that is to get my webcam link it to my laptop and shine a light into the hull and I think i will then be able to see what's happening

Aww your poor thumb. After looking at your photos was wondering if you have something not quite sitting where is should, as in your cutouts are slightly off from where they need to be or something.

I did similar surgery on my right thumb with a breadknife in 1961 or 1962 (different angle, nearly across part of the thumb) - just looking at the faint scar now!
