Ouch AFK, that's a cut to be proud of! Hope it heals soon. I've got 2 ideas for you to try: 1. I've found this useful in the past for removing small warps: cut across the 3 longitudinal planks shown in pic 2, down to the underside of the deck using a fine modelling saw. The best place to start is immediately next to the large cross-beam. This should allow you to flex the deck into the correct shape. Next, squirt as much glue, or preferably resin, into the gap as you can and then return the deck to the hull, placing weights on the deck for about a day. If you think the warp starts further back than the cross-beam, cut the across the 5 cross-beams, flex and glue in the same way. If It still has a little warp left after this, repeat the dose. 2. This can be tried on it's own or in conjunction with step 1. Remove beam 56 on picture 3, as it's not essential, and fit 2 planks to the underside of the deck, butting up to the cross-beam. These planks should be of something substantial, 1.5-2cm x .5cm, and glued upright like roof-beams. Better still for a belt and braces approach, if you can make holes in the cross-beam, you'd be able to slot longer planks through it, taking the new longitudinal planks across both sides of the cross-beam. Take care of that thumb. David

Hi Afkmatrix, sorry about yer thumb, looks nasty!
Looking at your modified decks, I belive you are using new wood for the foredeck......have you sanded an angle on the edge where it meets the hull?
If the decking is snug against the hull, you will notice that the hull is inclined in on both sides, so the deck edge needs an identical incline so it will slot down fully, I.E. if you take a sanding block, angle it at about 45% on the side of the deck and sand an angle on it (going in on the bottom) it might help.

When I did my mod, I cut round inside the outer edge by the width of the margin plank, as this was already fitted. When I tried the new foredeck, I had the same problem as you, and after much head scratching and contemplation, I suddenly realised that my new deck extenders/stiffeners underneath were sitting on top of the old frames! I then cut slots for them and all was well, the deck now sits as it did before I attacked it!!!!! Luckily enough, my cutout for the gun turret Anton allowed me to see the frame under it and it was then obvious that the deck was not seating correctly!! Sorry to see your bad cut, I always reckon to do something similar on each of my models (not intentionally, I hasten to add!!), and this always seems to bring me good luck and a successful conclusion!!!

Well not much done at all recently as my knife slipped at the weekend and my thumb came of worse Congratulations Afkmatrix, you have now been baptised into the ranks of the experienced modelmakers. ;D Seriously though, a roll of masking tape makes an excellent first-aid plaster! I use mine all the time! Even trained my daughter who is a midwife, to use it! ;D

Thanks for all your comments, the thumb has healed perfectly But I have now started on the brass bits and I can see that my eye sight and my patience is going to be shot to **** after all this brass But I have a request as I have lost one of the small grills from issue 49, the damn thing pinged off just as I was attaching it So if anyone has a spare issue 49 I would definitely buy it.

Right another update lads. I have now sanded my hull and need to now do some filling and attach my resin pieces, will show you some pics when all that is done. In the mean time I have been doing quite a bit of work on the Superstructure and have also done 2 issues of brass bits (49 & 50). So here are the pics: Hear are some pics of the Superstructure: And here is Issue 49's Brass bit: As you can see I failed miserably with my first effort but issue 50 went a lot better ;D: I will give details of how I did my brass bits in the brass thread under superstructure, as it truely does make a difference the tips that are given there.

Ok here is issue 51's Brass parts. The only thing I find really annoying on the brass is when you have to put the parts in the slots, the slots are to big!!! Its a balancing act to hold it there as the slits are far to big so the piece just goes right through unless u hold it!! Anyway here are the pics:

You are lucky AFKMATRIX, quite a few of mine have the slots too small, especially the right angled ones, and had to file down!!!
